[The video is only about five seconds or so of footage, filmed by someone who doesn't really seem to know what they're doing. It's set in what looks like a forest--the edge of the Gods Wood, to be exact--centered on a patch of recently displaced mud and grass. In the middle is a dirty, soggy, beaten up old wooden sign, apparently dug out of said patch of mud by hand.

Written on it are the words BALANCE MUST BE RESTORED.

Another holiday, usually a little after All Hallow's. Or Halloween as it's called where I'm from.

I don't think I could after it being under mud and grass that long. Really though that's not a bad idea if you can find someone with a sensitive nose. It's worth a try anyhow?

We'll have reason to celebrate once it's all over.

And someone who might have an even better one. An animal-like sense of smell, you could say.

[That being said though:]

It's sort telling that it was buried long enough for grass to grow over it. It's no surprise to anyone I'm sure but this sun... group or cult or whatever it is? Has been going on for a good while now.

Longer than any of us thought. Maybe even longer than the faction leaders thought.

No one saw the sign before the harvest. Why hide it?

And more over why hide it like *that*. If they broke it apart and burned it there wouldn't be any evidence whatsoever. Burying it seems sort of like you said they wanted it to be found eventually.

Ashe brought up the idea that they may have buried it as part of a ritual. You don't happen to have any ideas on that, do you?

Rituals aren't uncommon. There are some that are used to will intentions into being, but it's usually done with candles. From what I've learned, it's more like a prayer than magic. Something done with the hope that it might come true, not with any guarantee that it will.

If I had to guess, it was buried because of nature, not magic, but there are others that would know more than I do.

I thought about nature too but if that's the case --

[Sarah pauses there a moment. The notion she's coming to isn't a pleasant one.]

If they didn't deliberately bury it but it was just time that did it, they must really not be afraid of being caught. Just leaving things like that behind shows arrogance but it shows a level of confidence too, don't you think?

It does. They've gone so long without detection that they've gotten arrogant.

They could have used it as a message before the harvest. A way of telling the other branded what was planned and where without risking a meeting between them all.
