[ While Aragorn may have volunteered to fight this war, he won't force others. He agreed to fight in hopes of winning favor with the Emperor. Keep your friends close and your enemy closer. The Emperor might not be their enemy, but he certainly doesn't seem like their ally. Maybe if he manages to win a few battles, the Emperor will be more forthright with the truth. Maybe. ]

i don't want to fight, i know at least that much. i guess i have to figure out what else i can do... it's just hard to feel invested in a war after being dropped into it a few days ago

[ It's a terse reply, one that comes a little too hasty for Aragorn's liking. He's admittedly been in a mood since his unexpected arrival, but Aragorn knows better. This person doesn't deserve his frustration, but rather his sympathy.

no arguments here, i don't think anyone dragged into this fight unwillingly is my enemy

that doesn't change how the court views things. i have no idea what the consequences are for falling out of line. all i'm saying is we gotta be careful until we know more, that's all
