-- Hello? Hi. My name is Nancy Wheeler, and I have a couple of things I'd like to ask, if anyone has the time.

[ unfortunately, no matter how much research nancy's done on everything she possibly could, the idea of recording a voice message for an entire network of people to listen to is still a little overwhelming for her. she knows it's a useful tool, but she's from 1985, so. y'know. it's a lot. still! she has a few questions, and she's not going to let something like feeling intimidated by new, magical technology stop her.

and yes, she knows there are horrifying monsters running around at night, which is normally a fight she'd be running head first into, but she doesn't have her gun. guns just- aren't a thing here, as far as she's learned. maybe she should ask..? no. let's not go there, if she doesn't have to. ]

Has anyone had the opportunity to register and attend classes at the University of Terebellum? I've only recently arrived here, but I figure the best way I can help or contribute to everything that's happening in this world is to learn magic, so. I'd like to do that. I'm just wondering if anyone knows how to go about registering for classes.

-- Or if there's anyone that would be willing to teach me on their own. I know it's a lot to ask, but I'm a quick learn, and I used to tutor my classmates back at school - [ wow, okay, cutting off that thought. how embarrassing. ] -- I just think it would be beneficial to form some sort of study group, for anyone that wants to learn magic, but doesn't have access to the University here just yet. I would be more than willing to set something up, but I just need someone to teach me the basics, first.

Any information on how I can go about learning magic, from the very start, would be appreciated - even moreso if anyone has the time to teach me, too. Although if there's something I could be doing to help that might be more effective than learning magic, I'm certainly open to that, too.

Yeah. I'm new. Hey, nice shoes, by the way, you now need to grow plants faster with your mind. [ fortunately for her, dick speaks fluent sarcasm. and is similarly annoyed. ]

Magic's not really something I'm used to. Kind of weird to have a whole language existing that you don't speak.

What's crazy is that it only exists in a fictional sense, where I'm from. So sure, I've heard of it - my brother plays a game that's... y'know, this. You create a character, and you play in this giant, made-up world that's just like this. You learn magic, and go on quests, and fight monsters. But it's not real, of course it's not.

[ she's babbling, yep. not exactly panicking, but it's hard not to ramble where there's so much to process ]

I really don't actually want him to show up here like I did, but he would know exactly what to do. Or at least where to start.

[ she reaches for her brother. in times like these, dick reaches for his father.

bruce wayne would want answers. so does he. ]

It's not real until it is. [ way to be cryptic, dude. ]

Since we're fighting a lot here, not only monsters.

Right. Exactly.

[ she says it in a breath, not quite like he's knocked the wind out of her with a little statement like that, but maybe a little like that ]

Part of me just wants to learn magic so I can- ward a building and give people a safe place to hide from the fighting, stay there and protect them. But I know I'd go crazy if I tried to hide every time there was a fight, so I know I'm going to have to learn some offensive magic, too. [ try to learn what eleven can do ] So- If that's why you're looking to learn too, then I think we'll make a good team.

[ she hears a small laugh from him. he'd go crazy sitting still too. dick would only learn defense because it was necessary.

but his default setting is attack. ]

There's ways to protect people that aren't magical, but I understand. We've got to play by this world's rules.

I think once we get started, teamwork will come naturally.

Mm. Until we get a supply of gun ammunition, my usual method of running and shooting isn't much help here. And I'm not exactly built to throw a punch.

[ look she knows her strengths and weaknesses ok, she doesn't sound too ashamed ]

But I got a few offers of sword fighting here, so, who knows. [ a beat ] Maybe I should look into archery.

he's just gotten used to carrying a firearm. cop stuff. ]

Don't know if I can help with archery, but I'm not bad with a staff. [ says the master archer. ]
