[ What's up, everybody? Zack hasn't been on the network much, but he is today! He looks very serious and businesslike, though he does spare a faint smile. ]

So...I know we've all got a lot on our minds right now, but since it looks like things are going to get hectic again pretty soon, I figured now's as good a time as any to mention training.

Non-lethal techniques, self-defense, wielding swords... If you'd like to learn or practice any of those, feel free to contact me.

I'm also on the lookout for sparring partners, but as a fair warning, I hit a bit harder than most people.

[ That's a bit of an understatement, but he's not about to broadcast everything he can do, you know. ]

( shifters can take a hit better than your average human, and he's no pushover, but. he's well aware he's relatively small fry compared to some of the people here, and he'd rather err to the side of unbroken ribs if at all possible. )

He laughs. ]

I can definitely promise not to put you through a wall.

[ That would defeat the purpose of sparring...! ]

Do you prefer hand-to-hand or using weapons of some kind?

He laughs a little. ]

At least I come by it honestly?

[ He did give everybody a warning!! ]

I promise I'll be more gentle.

I'm top-notch at hand-to-hand, but I need to get better fighting against people with weapons. You?

[Is she kidding? Serious? Hard to tell. But he did give everybody else a warning, at least so she'll let it slide with that little threat for now. A half chuckle later:]

I can do both. I teach Hapkido in Chicago, where I'm from. It's a lot of grappling and striking techniques if you aren't familiar, but I can use your garden variety sharp-and-shinies too. I'll admit, I'm better bare-handed.

( he's had a lot more cause in his life to punch people than to carry a sword, so. the fairbairn-sykes knife in his boot is an exception to the rule, and he's only used it twice. )

Either one works for me. If you feel like you need to get better with weapons, though, we can definitely go for that.

Honestly, I can't say I've heard of Hapkido or Chicago, but I think I know what you're talking about.

Swords are pretty much my specialty, but I would definitely be down for some hand-to-hand.

I'll be in Kyst unless something happens. There's a courtyard by the east side warehouses we can use. Plenty of open space for a good round.

Sounds to me like a staff might end up being more useful than a sword sometime soon-ish so I'd definitely be willing to brush up on that. Get a few pointers.
